Grilling Veggies

There's more than beef on the menu!


Everyone loves cooking vegetables over a wood grill (or a gas grill with some smoldering wood chips added).  The smoke simply adds warm, roasted flavors that are hard to come by in the kitchen.  Here are a couple of tips for successfully grilling veggies:

  • For small items - use foil pouches to enclose the items, along with a little olive oil, leaving the top partially open to absorb the smoke flavor.
  • For larger items - you may apply some cooking oil on the outside of the vegetables with a pastry brush to prevent burning and cook them over direct heat turning as needed
  • Other methods include cooking over grilling woks, using grilling baskets and foil pans.
  • Such as: corn, potatoes, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, peppers, and more!
