This burger will be a real hit. 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80 percent lean)
In a medium bowl, combine all of the ground beef, 3/4 cup cheese, 1/4 cup salsa, tortilla chips, green onions, cumin, chili powder, cayenne (if desired) and garlic salt. Mix lightly, but thoroughly. Shape into 4 patties 1/2 inch thick. Fire up your grill to a medium-hot temperature. Grill patties 5 minutes on each side or until internal temp reaches 150°. Note: Keep in mind that the meat will continue to cook for a short while after being removed from the grill. Lightly toast hamburger buns. Place burgers on buns; top with remaining 1/4 cup salsa; sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup cheese serve with lettuce and tomato. |
