The unique smells are due to the mold and certain types of bacteria that are encouraged to grow on the cheese - bet you didn't know that: For example, one type of bacteria is primarily responsible for the smell of many blue cheeses. Some even think it smells like "stinky" feet. We think it is great! 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
In a large mixing bowl go ahead and combine the beef, garlic, beaten eggs, and salt and pepper. Mix gently and try not to mash the meat together any more than necessary. Next, divide the meat into 6 patties. Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes, or longer. Fire up your grill to a medium-hot temperature. Place the beef patties directly over the fire and cook on both sides until slightly charred. Move the patties to a little cooler portion of the grill and cook until desired doneness is reached. About 2 minutes before they are ready to come off, add 1/6th of the blue cheese to each burger patty. Close the lid and allow the cheese to melt. Toast the rolls slightly. Place the burgers on the buns and top with lettuce, tomato and onion rings. If desired, compliment with mayonnaise, ketchup or mustard. |
